Rides like Sky Shark are fun but I am not fond of paying extra once I
already paid to get into the park. I do like the placement of this
one. The midway is right beneath
where you are hoisted up to
so you can look down on everyone beneath you as you plummet over a
hundred feet. After that you have a nice relaxing swing out over
the lake.
Diamond Mine Run was the next coaster we came to. Unfortunately
there was no ride operator in the station. In fact there was no
ride operator even vaguely near.
We eventually found a ride operator and with the park completely dead
(this was a weekday in May with local schools in session) and with
staffing low Bond was not going to get to add this fun little coaster to
his count on this visit.
I said a few pages ago where the current management had been dressing up
the park here and there and again I have to commend them for it.
Things like a waterfall and a pond are not big additions but the sound
of falling water and them taking pride enough to make their park as
beautiful as they can goes a long way to making a good park into a great
park.
Now we weren't thrilled to hear that one of our favorite flat rides; the
Power Surge, had been moved to Frontier City. Instead of just leaving a
bare spot Magic Springs dressed up the site with a few benches giving
people a place to relax. Hopefully there are plans to bring back
some new ride here in the future.
