Leap The Dips, The worlds oldest roller coaster at Lakemont Park and The Island Waterpark, Altoona, Pennsylvania

The ride is pretty simple.  The track slowly works its way around a layout that looks like an 8 was laid down.  Where the track crosses the middle of the eight there is a dip that you do not technically "leap" as in the ride name.

Although as your car is not locked down to the track and is only held there by gravity it can pop up off of the track a few inches coming up from one of the rides dips.

As a result Leap The Dips can give not just you a little bit of airtime but the car as well.

The biggest drop on Leap The Dips is at the lowest level of the figure eight as for a fourth time the car drops out from under you and dives under the three previous dips.  A little tip is to prepare yourself for this dip as it will really slam you hard.  This was the only part of Leap The Dips that I didn't like.

After coming around the figure eight for the last time Leap The Dips has a nice bunny hop filled run to take you back to the station.
