Boulder Dash is amazing but I think having a classic like the Wildcat
at the centerpiece for the park gives Lake Compounce its classic amusement
park feel.
Wildcat has a fun double out and back layout with tall turnarounds and a
lot of small bunny hops between both ends.
Being around coasters like I have been what is amusing is you can almost
date the coaster by its name.
"Wildcat" was a generic name that PTC used for their coasters.
From 1920 through 1936 PTC made over twenty coasters that they called "Wildcat".
They were also big fans of calling their coasters "Comet" as well.
I think all the creativity went into making the rides rather than coming
up with a cool name for it. Not that Wildcat isn't a cool name but
they did use it a lot.
