The Trolley at Lake Compounce Amusement Park, Bristol, Connecticut

It is the end of the line and time to get off.

The last time I visited Lake Compounce we just missed the chance to ride the Sky Ride as it closes at five.

I really wanted to ride it up the mountainside in order to get photos of the lake, park and Boulder dash which turns around right by it.  Unfortunately I missed out again as they were not running it during Education Days.  I can understand the reasoning behind not running it because you have a park full of teenagers who sometimes don't make the best choices while under little supervision.  It was best to keep it closed to discourage any trouble and I'm certain that this early in the season staffing was an issue as well.

Instead of taking the Lakeside Trolley back Bond and I took the path that sits right between the Trolley and Boulder Dash in order to play with our cameras.

Nestled at one end of the lake is Crocodile Cove which is Lake Compounce's water park.  Temperatures were in the 60's to 70's during our visit so Bond and I kept to the coasters while quite a few teenagers braved the cold air & cold water and displayed a lack of common sense to spend their time in it.  I'm no fan of hypothermia.   My attitude has been in general water parks were added to amusement parks to keep people out of my coaster lines so I can ride more.  ;-)
