As you drive down Knoebels Parkway you will quickly notice a huge
change for this year.
For the first time since the Whirlwind coaster left the park in 2004
Knoebel's has a steel looping coaster.
Impulse is the name of the new coaster and the blue and yellow track is
quite striking as you come around the corner and have it towering over you.
Hopefully the drivers on Knoebels Parkway keep their eyes on the road and
not on the coaster otherwise the day might get off to a bumpy start with
a little Scooter like real world action.
Like other compact looping coasters from Intamin or Gerstlauer this Zierer
designed ride uses a vertical lift hill in order to not have to use a lot
of real estate.
I really like the vertical lifts as it seems like a really slow ascent but
as soon as you reach the top in the blink of an eye your vision is filled
with the ground as you plunge towards it.
