Bond tried the Demon at Six Flags Great America earlier in the season
and kind of liked looping but wasn't so sure about it. When we hit
Six Flags St. Louis three days before our Kinds Island visit he tried Ninja
with me and decided that he really loved looping so he was really craving
The Vortex as soon as he saw it.
Back in the late 1980's Arrow was the company if you wanted a steel coaster
and they had a string of taller and taller multi-loopers. Vortex is
one of the first in a string of Arrow's tallest looping coasters that was
followed by Shock Wave at Six Flags Great America, Great American Scream
Machine at Six Flags Great Adventure and Viper at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Viper wasn't the tallest nor did it have the most loops but I like it considerably
more than the others.
Bond howled through all of Vortex's six loops and then wanted it all again.
