We weren't planning on heading
back to Paramount's Kings Island this year but after receiving an offer
that I couldn't refuse as in free tickets from Dave Althoff & Dave
Bowers wheels were set in motion. Carrie wasn't that interested
in spending a day at a park in November so Bond and I climbed in the
car around five thirty in the morning and headed east for our first
ever big day long park trip with just the two of us.
Paramount's Kings Island was
in the middle of getting ready for the return of Winterfest this year.
The fountains on International Street was being transformed into an
ice skating rink for the event.
The holiday decorations were
going up all over. Winterfest is a big Christmas and holiday celebration
with decorations, ice skating, parades, shopping, music, a few rides
and even more decorations. Don't expect to be riding coasters
in late November and December but I think they'll have the train and
carousel open for Winterfest.
After meeting up with Dave
Althoff it was time to head on down deep into Paramount's Kings Island
for some thrills of the roller coaster kind to start off our day.
Besides after getting about 3 hours of sleep the night before (we had
tornados and storms about 2am that we were up keeping an eye on) I needed
something to really give me a jolt in order to wake me up.
The Beast was our choice for
first coaster of the day.
