The Rebel Yell Roller coaster at Kings Dominion, Doswell, Virginia

Rebel Yell was our next ride to hit.  I have watched point of view videos of this coaster since I saw the movie Rollercoaster back in the 1970's.  This coaster was featured prominently in that movie and during a marathon on it for the opening of the movie the American Coaster Enthusiasts were formed.  So this coaster has a special place in any coaster enthusiast's heart because this is where the first recognition of our hobby happened.  People got together and realized that they weren't the only ones who loved coasters the club and hobby grew from there.

Rebel Yell was the big thing back in 1976 but just beyond it sits the big thing today.

The Drop Tower at Kings Dominion, Doswell, Virginia

Just like Kings Island when Kings Dominion was sold by Paramount Studios the park had to get rid of the Drop Zone name for their drop ride and it's now called the ever creative Drop Tower.

Even with the lame name change everyone still hits the bottom with a smile on their face even if they were freaking out on the way up.
