I love hand cars. Bond loved hand cars when he was little.
I liked them because the ride burned off some of Bond's limitless energy
when he was little. Bond liked it because it is so much fun to go
as fast as you can around the track.
I was so excited to go and visit Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood at Idewild.
Before we get into who Daniel Tiger is I have to state that this is the
greatest line for any ride ever! You have seats...they are under shade!
As you get closer to the ride you just slide to the left. Plus as
this ride is geared for pre-teen kids there is a large lawn for the kids
to run around on while the parents sit in the shade. I may sound a
little insane here but as a parent whose child was not so long ago a little
nuclear reactor on legs this is like a religious experience. More
parks need to do this. Could you imagine sitting down while in line
for a coaster? "Bench queue" systems like this would make waiting
three hours for the newest most intense coaster easy. Hey throw in
wi/fi and places to plug in and it would be perfect.
Back to the ride. If you grew up watching PBS I don't have to explain
to you what this is. You know that the Neighborhood Trolley took viewers
of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood on a trip into the Neighborhood of Make Believe.
John and I were all psyched about getting to ride on the neighborhood Trolley
off into the Neighborhood of Make Believe while Bond and Draven were too
cool to get excited about a ride based on a kids show.
