This carousel replaced Idlewild's original ride which was a steam
powered ride.
In 1931 Idlewild after fifty-three years the park finally had
electricity which made it so they could add modern rides like this
carousel and to be open late into the summer nights.

This hand carved carousel was created by the artisans at the
Philadelphia Toboggan Company in 1930.
It spent the summer entertaining guests on the boardwalk in Atlantic
City before moving to Idlewild to kick of the parks electrified
epansion.
