Hersheypark, Hershey, Pennsylvania

Just outside of Hersheypark's gates sits Hershey's Chocolate World.  If you need anything, and I do mean ANYTHING with any sort of Hershey's product on it this is the place for you.  There are numerous versions of Monopoly games, Hershey's Kisses blankets, cookie jars for your kitchen, clothes with Hershey's products on and anything else one who likes that sort of thing could desire.  If you have ever been to The World of Coke in Atlanta and have desired something like that for Hershey's Chocolates then this is the place for you.

The main attraction in The World of Chocolate besides the insane amounts of product placement and consumerism is the Hershey's Chocolate Tour.

The Hershey's Chocolate Tour really isn't a tour as you do not tour a real chocolate factory but it is a whimsical tour through a faux factory on a big Omnimoover type ride contraption.

The first thing that clued me into the fact that we were not going through a real factory were the three animatronic singing cows who were describing the processes in a lyrical manor.

The Hershey's Chocolate  Tour goes on to describe all of the processes to making tasty milk chocolate in a very simplified manner.  The ride was fun and at the end they give you candy which is good.  I'm sure more people would enjoy Hershey's Chocolate World but I am more than a little jaded and cynical about product placement, marketing and advertising from my years working in that field and I would have rather spent my time in the park.  At least that took us just half an hour.
