The next coaster on our tour of Hersheypark is The Great Bear.
The Great Bear is an inverted coaster built by Bolliger and Mabillard for
Hersheypark in 1998.
The Great Bear has a different feel to it when compared to most inverted
coasters by B&M. Instead of just immediately plummeting after
the lift The Great Bear takes you through this high helix before getting
to the big drop.
With the unique start to the ride The Great Bear has more of a relaxed fun
feel to it instead of being nothing but a high speed thrill machine.
With the station half the way up Hersheypark's Kissing Tower Hill The Great
bear only has a ninety foot lift before a descent of one hundred and twenty-four
feet into the valley below.
