Disneyland, Anaheim, California

Wandering from Adventureland into New Orleans Place really threw me for a curve because I am so used to the layout of the Magic Kingdom in Florida.  At that park Adventureland goes into Frontierland and then into New Orleans Place.

Looking across the Rivers of America at Frontierland you can see how completely packed Disneyland was.  Thankfully though as you will be able to see we were able to get in all the rides we wanted despite the crowds.

Our next stop was the legendary Pirates of the Caribbean.

At first I do have to say that if you think the ride was made after the movie I have to hit you.  This classic attraction was the final addition to Disneyland that Walt Disney had a hand in before he passed away.  It opened in 1967 and there was no Captain Jack Sparrow in it back then.

The changes that have been made to this ride with the addition of Captain Jack Sparrow, the changing of the wench auction and removing the scene where pirates were perusing  their wenches really takes away from how amazing this ride was.  Maybe I'm a purist but the additions are like adding a McDonalds sign off in the distance behind the Mona Lisa to bring her up to the times.
