As at many of the amusement parks we have visited in Pennsylvania
picnics are a
big part of the business. Out here in the
Midwest you don't see families or civic groups hoisting picnics at
parks, probably because most of the parks are big chain parks.
In Pennsylvania with little parks dotting the state and many of them
free admission parks I guess it is just part of the culture to go to
your local amusement park for a fun day for a picnic with family and
friends.
With DelGrosso's coasters under our belt it was time to visit the
Sauce Boss for some of what DelGrosso's is known for...its food.
I have to admit that the pizza at DelGrosso's smelled so good I
forgot to take a picture of it. How did it taste you ask?
Now before I answer you I have to state that I am a bit of a pizza
snob as I grew up in Chicago with regular runs to placed like Uno's,
Lou Malnotti's or some of the myriad of little pizza joints all
across the city that make some of the most amazing pizzas in
existence. I am no fan of chain pizza joints and I love making my
own hand made 2 inch thick Chicago style pizza. So what did I
think of DelGrosso's pizza? WOW! It isn't my favorite
style which is deep dish but the DelGrosso family knows how to make
a fantastic pizza. It was worth the trip there just for a
slice.
With a belly full of great pizza Bond was quite content and happy
with his visit to DelGrosso's Amusement Park.
Our visit to DelGrosso's was not quite done as we had to pass
through the parks huge waterpark expansion for 2016 on the way back
to the car.
