Chestnut Mountain Alpine Slide
August 12, 2011
These alpine slide tracks are not permanent as they go down one of
Chestnut Mountain's ski slopes so when the slide season is over they just
unhook all of the track sections and truck them away for the winter.
The Chestnut Mountain Alpine Slide is 2,050 feet long and drops you 475
feet down the side of the hill.
At the end of our first ride Bond and I were both alpine slide addicts.
It was just so much fun twisting and turning down the hill going as fast
as we could go. It wasn't a coaster but it was as fun.
Here's Bond speeding down the hill. He'd start ahead of me and I'd
always blow past him as I have the mass (well a little too much of it but
I'm working on that) which makes me go faster.
