I really want to like Maverick because I really enjoy aggressive coasters.
Maverick has violent changes in direction that could be fun but with it's
over the shoulder restraints. With only a couple of rides my shoulders
were all bruised to hell and even with holding myself against the restraints
my neck was beat to heck from the laterals. It'd be an amazing
ride if it didn't hurt so much.
This little headchopper as you enter one of Maverick's loops is a nice
surprise.
We ended up getting two rides on Maverick pretty quickly and those ended
up being our only rides on it during our two days at Cedar Point because
it made Bond pretty sick.
Despite being queasy Bond wanted to get his Mean Streak credit out of the
way. So we headed across the train tracks for what hopefully will
be my last ride on one of the worst wooden coasters on the planet.
The only way I'll ride it again is if one of my grandchildren (when
I have any way off in the future) needs the credit. Hopefully Cedar
Point will have torn it down and replaced it with a triple racing/dueling
wooden coaster from either Great Coasters International or the Gravity Group
before that time..
