Raptor's big bad part for me is it's ending helix. The forces
are just so strong I feel my blood pooling in my feet and that hurts like
heck. Some might like it but for me it's just a little too much.
Hidden behind Raptor is the only worthwhile wooden coaster at Cedar Point
the Blue Streak. Do not miss this ride! It was running phenomenal
with ejector airtime in the back over most of it's hills. It rarely
has a line as it's off the midway and hidden so you can ride it and then
run around and catch the same train again and again.
Oh, there are a lot of idiots who think that because it's not that big of
a ride they can whip out their cameras on it and take a few pictures.
Twice we ended up getting stopped on the lift hill as idiots were caught
whipping out cameras. Just a note Cedar Point does not allow cameras to
be used on any of their coasters.
On the Lake Erie side of Cedar Point sits the only ride on the trip that
got me nervous. MaxAir is a "Giant Frisbee" ride from Huss.
What it does is swing you back and forth while spinning you around.
I like the swinging but I really wasn't sure about the spinning as I tend
to get sick from that. Surprisingly I only had a moment of queasiness
on this long ride but what was wonderful was as you swing up you get hit
with cool breezes coming off of the lake. So if you need to cool down
give MaxAir a go.
Here comes Paul "Bratman" from the Negative-G Forums coming to
join us. He is known as the "Destroyer of Rides" as wherever
he goes rides begin to break down. He has taken down so many coasters
he has two counts...1 for the coasters he's been on and 1 for the coasters
he's broken. He's from Toronto and as soon as he crossed the border
rides began breaking down all over Cedar Point. Our hope was that
we could put his evil power to our use by causing a rollback on Top Thrill
Dragster.
