Here is another photo of us. The Monster is such an
amazingly photogenic it was really hard weeding down the photos to those
used here. I ended up with something like six hundred photos from
our day at Adventureland with about four hundred of them being amazing
photos of The Monster. Deciding which stay and which go is like
choosing which of your children is your favorite. It is painful
and tough.
Following the twist and dive is the best named coaster loop ever!
This is the "negative-g stall loop". I am very honored that
Gerstlauer named this loop after this site. My ego aside the real
reason behind the name is due to the shape of the loop. Looking at
the negative-g stall loop from the side it is as if you took a normal
loop and then just smashed down the top of the loop making it an oblong
shaped inversion. With the top of the loop flattened out that is
where all of the negative-g's come into play. You see with a flat
stretch of track at the top of the loop you just hang there. As
you are inverted and hanging there it is not technically a real
"negative-g" but hanging against your restraints for what seems like an
eternity is pure bliss.
A nice dive loop at the far corner of The Monster's layout turns you
back around and sends you back into the maelstrom of track.
This wicked little airtime hill as The Monster crosses the center of the
ride is a lot of fun.
As you can see by all of the hair and beards flying up the airtime is
swift and intense.
I have to say that when I first saw The Monster's cars I thought they
looked cheesy but on the track and speeding all around you they are
really fun looking.
