Six Flags America Largo, Maryland May 8, 2005 Page Two
My first stop of the evening was at the Wild One.
The Wild One has an interesting history. It opened in 1917 at Paragon Park in Massachusetts as designed by the great John Miller. In the 1930's Herbert Schmeck redesigned it and then in 1986 after Paragon Park closed it was dismantled and moved to Wild World which later became Adventure World and then finally Six Flags America.
The Wild One was frustrating to me as I could see that it'd be a great airtime filled coaster if properly taken care of. Unfortunately when I visited it the whole ride felt like a car speeding over a gravel road with no shock absorbers.
I think though if it was properly taken care of, re-tracked and had graphite added to the track on a regular basis this would be one hell of a fun coaster.
