On July 30, 2006 I finally made my way
to Branson, Missouri after years of wanting to get there to experience
Silver Dollar City and Celebration City. Greg (my traveling
companion) and I got up with the sun and headed west from St. Louis to
spend our morning and afternoon at Silver Dollar City. In the
evening we headed down from the hills to spend our evening at
Celebration City.
On the strip in Branson you have
hundreds of shows, tourist attractions, all you can eat buffets and half of
the Titanic. With all of that the only thing we wanted to do is to
ride coasters at Celebration City.
Celebration City is actually the
second amusement park at this location. Branson USA operated on
the site from 1999 to 2001 when it went out of business. Silver
Dollar City bought the property and a few of
Branson USA's rides and transformed the whole property into Celebration City.
Like Silver Dollar City they
really paid a lot of attention to making Celebration City a top
notch attraction Celebration
City is not open all day long. It opens at 3 PM and is more of a
place to go spend the evening with some serious thrills out on the strip.
