Before you get to the lift the Dipper likes to confuse you a but. After dropping out of the station you head into a tunnel that twists and turns you all around so you're not that sure where you are.

The Giant Dipper has a legendary lift hill sound...it sounds like a marimba band. It's pretty cool.

The Giant Dipper's first drop really rocks. I love turning drops. They give you great lateral and positive G's and it gives you a great out of control feel to a ride.

Here you can see the first drop as well as several of the rides they have at Belmont Park. Personally I can't pass up a tilt a whirl, they are just so fun, especially if you get a real spinner.
